At E3 2014, Ubisoft finally reveals Assassin's Creed: Unity to the world. The game that will be exclusive to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be available on October 28, 2014. Watch the bad ass world premiere story trailer of Assassin's Creed: Unity after the break.
Directed by former Assassin's Creed: Revelations creative director, Alexandre Amancio, Assassin's Creed: Unity will follow a new assassin, Arno Dorian, a French-Austrian descent who joined the Assassin Order in 1789 to take revenge on the French Monarchy for his loss during their ruthless rule. Along with other assassins, Arno overthrows the French Monarchy and leads the French Revolution in order to give back power to the people.
Arno Dorian is said to be more ruthless than any assassins before him. Arno has various new weapons, such as the revolutionary Phantom Blade, an upgraded version of the assassins' iconic weapon, the hidden blade. It adds throwing abilities to the already effective hidden blade, which also makes it more lethal not only from close range, but also long range.
It seems like Assassin's Creed: Unity is going back to its assassin roots, with giving more attention to the Eagle Pulse than the previous two installments. The new enhanced Eagle Pulse will make battles more tactical than ever before. Assassin's Creed: Unity also introduces the Adaptive Mission Mechanic, giving players several potential paths to complete a mission as opposed to causing desynchronization like previous versions.
Assassin's Creed: Unity is also the first game in the series to introduce campaign co-op. Up to four players can take on story-based missions including sabotaging an execution, protecting an emperor or assassinating a target. The Assassins' weapons and appearance are customizable, while experience gained can be spent on combat, navigation or stealth abilities.Amancio expected players will spend a third of their time in coop mode.Amancio reveals why the co-op campaign was added in Assassin's Creed: Unity. In Assassin's Creed: Unity, assassins do not only embark on their own quests (like Ezio avenging his family), they have to pay their dues to the Assassin council. So players will have to complete "Brotherhood missions", in shared experience, to fulfill their duties towards the Assassin Order.
