AKB48 Goes "Zombie" in Sailor Zombie~AKB48 Edition

First, if you don't know what the hell is AKB48, then this might not interest you at all. But if you are a fan of this Japanese idol group or just like them or even just ever heard about them and you also like zombies, then you may proceed reading this post.

Recently, Bandai Namco Games just announced a new arcade shoot em up game featuring Japan's hottest idol group, AKB48. For wotas (idol group die-hard fans in Japanese), maybe this game is what they are all waiting for. For me or other geeks, this is actually a treat. Put some cute girls who dances around for a living and zombies inside a game it's actually a winning formula in my opinion.

Based on the teaser trailer and my inaccurate translation of Japanese (no, I don't speak Japanese, I just know a few words, thanks to anime and tokusatsu), you get to choose from seven different AKB48 members which is Yuko Oshima (AKB48 Team K, the current "face" of AKB48), Mayu Watanabe (AKB48 Team A, said to be the most talented in everything), Yuki Kashiwagi (AKB Team B, the "angel" of AKB48), Anna Iriyama (AKB48 Team A, the "bimbo" of the AKB48), Rina Kawaei (AKB48 Team A, the self-proclaimed "idiot"), Mako Kojima (AKB48 New Team 4, AKB48's next "ace") and Miki Nishino (AKB48 New Team 4, the actual "smart kid" of AKB48) to save your fellow members from turning into a zombie by injecting antivirus serum to them before they turn into zombies.

Recently, at the Japanese Amusement Expo 2014, two members of AKB48 Team B, Ayaka Umeda and Suzuran Yamauchi actually tried the game. Umechan (Umeda Ayaka's nickname) who is actually known as a gamer herself said that she enjoyed playing the game and was actually impressed by the idea of combining idols and zombies in one game. Umechan also stated that the game was so fun AND scary at the same time, but the sense of achievement after you manage to save a member felt so good. Well, of course you know she'd say despite not appearing in the game at all and wouldn't make fun of this "beautiful game" in front of everyone.

It seems like this game also has some rhythm and dance in it, where you have to match pushing the trigger in your hands with the bubbles on the screen. Wait, there's more! Werewolves! Now don't ask me what's that gotta do with idols and zombies but there it is!

One more thing, don't expect high quality graphics because that won't happen for a "cheesy" game like this. Besides, why would you want to see your favorite idol turned into a zombie in HD? That surely would ruin your wet dreams.

Can you guess who this might be?

This game will be playable in April 2014 all across Japan and coming to selected arcades around the world by the summer of this year. Honestly, I don't expect this game to be released here in Indonesia.
